This recipe if dedicated to my natural hair, natural beauty, natural you lovers!
My homemade whipped shea butter has worked wonders for my skin and natural hair. As I have naturally dry skin and dry 4A/B hair anything that helps me to retain moisture is a beloved staple in my beauty regimen. I decided to make whipped shea butter because I was tired of spending money on tons of natural hair products that needed to be layered with a ton of other products. Don't get me wrong, I'm come across my fair share of products that work, but I figured that making my own products would be fun and educating. To begin I used the products listed:
- Raw Shea Butter (2 cups)
Benefits: Moisturizing and conditioning, packed with vitamin E, anti-inflammatory properties
- Avocado Oil (1/4 cup)
Benefits: rich in oleic acid and monounsaturated fats with helps to penetrants hair shaft and add moisture protects against sun damage, and protects skin from ultraviolet radiation.
- Coconut Oil (2 Tablespoons)
Benefits: Hydrating, provides antioxidants, aid in shine and preventing split ends
- Lemon Essential Oil (10-15 drops)
Benefits: Reduces stress and anxiety due to the amazing smell, kill harmful bacteria that may grow on your skin,
- Rosemary Essential Oil (4-7 drops)
Benefits: Stimulates hair growth, ease stress, and reduce inflammation in joints
- Red Pimento Oil (1 Tablespoon)
Benefits: High in antioxidants, improve circulation, stimulate nutrient absorption, support the hair growth process,
- Jamaican Black Castor Oil (2 Tablespoons)
Benefits: Promotes hair growth, moisturizes dry hair, prevent split ends, and has antibacterial and antifungal properties
When you have all of your ingredients, add them to a large mixing bowl! Next, get your blender and blend the shea butter for about 2-5 minutes . The products will begin to mix together and form a fluffy whipped like goodness that your hair and skin will thank you for! Transfer the products to a jar or your choice and kiss dry skin and hair GOODBYE!
